For over a decade I was hired by the bands themselves, or their labels, or the magazines. Concerts on both coasts, sessions in Los Angeles and New York, and a plane ticket whenever the work was on the other side of the country. A week with Sammy Hagar. A full day with Snoop or Metallica, or a few songs live with The Ramones or Ozzy! A lot of people whose records were on the radio at the time and a good many more who never made it that far. Being hired that way is why the pictures look the way they do, you get in close and you stay long enough that everybody forgets you are there.

Then in 2020 I moved to San Pedro, on Ambergris Caye in Belize, and I have been here since. Most of my shooting now is underwater, though I still work on land as well, weddings and portraits, here and anywhere else a client wants to fly me. The water is a different problem entirely. The reef does not hold still, the light changes every ten feet you drop, and of course the animals have opinions of their own. The loggerhead that came up and looked straight into the lens did that on his own. I just stayed put and kept shooting.

Every print is a signed limited edition and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity in the mail. Each edition is capped and once it is gone I do not reprint it. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting. You order it, it gets made, on acrylic, metal, canvas or paper, and it ships from the States. If you are here in Belize, paper and canvas up to 24 by 30 are printed on the island and you can collect them in San Pedro.
